When placing an outdoor coach light next to your exterior door one must determine if they are using two lights or one.  

If opting for two exterior lights, they should be mounted approximately 60” – 65” from the ground. For the best spread of light, the fixture should measure at least ¼ the height of the door.  

When installing only a single light next to an exterior door, position the light on the same side as the doorknob in order to see your visitors’ face when opening the

door at night. Additionally, this placement allows better visibility to the keyhole, allowing ease of access. Mount the center of the light at eye level, or 60”-65” from the ground.
